In 2009 year the retailer SELA opened about 70 new shops, however, unprofitable outlets were closed. As a result the retail chain increased only on 15 shops and the result of the crisis year was maintaining of sales volume in rubles on pre-crisis level.
According to Arcady Pecarevsky, the first vice- president of the retail chain, increasing of effectiveness of business will be the aim on 2010 year. For realization of this aim, the retailer plans to work with assortment of the retail chain and starts new promotional program.
To recap, that today the retail chain includes about 570 shops. 440 from them are situated in Russia; the others are situated in Ukraine, Estonia, Kazakhstan and China. The biggest part of outlets work according to franchising system.
